The current chat interface lacks a visible way to initiate a new chat. The Start Chat action button is implicitly placed within the more options menu making it hard for users especially new ones to quickly initiate a chat.

Problems:

  • No explicit Start Chat entry point in UI
  • Primary action hidden inside overflow menu

Impact:

  • Slower user interaction flow
  • Increased cognitive effort to locate primary action item
  • Pattern different from common messaging platforms

Hii @hodlbod, during usability testing I identified an issue with the accessibility of the “Start Chat” button. I’ve proposed a potential solution along with a supporting Figma file & prototype.

Solution:

  • Add an explicit “Start Chat” button as a floating action button positioned at the bottom-right corner of the UI, enabling users to quickly initiate a chat.
